LOAN OF WORKS

The Musée Carnavalet – Histoire de Paris supports many cultural events. More than 1,000 works are loaned out every year and join exhibitions organised by heritage institutions in France and across the world.

Loan requests should be made to Valérie Guillaume, Director of the Musée Carnavalet – Histoire de Paris at least eight months before the opening of the planned exhibition otherwise requests will not be processed.

Works and items for which loans are requested must be described precisely: artist, title (or name) and inventory number. If there is incorrect or incomplete information provided in the request it will not be examined; the volume of requests processed by the loan service each year means that there is not enough time to carry out research.

Postal address: 29 Rue de Sévigné, 75003, Paris

They are examined by a loan commission that meets six or seven times per year.

The Collections Department, which is active in the cross-disciplinary management of collections, coordinates loan organisation and the various departments involved.
