Getting there


Metro stations: Saint-Paul, or Chemin Vert
Bus lines: 29, 69, 76, 96
Vélib’ (self-service cycle hire) stations: 36, rue de
Sévigné; Saint-Paul metro station; 26, rue Saint-Gilles
Parking area : Place Baudoyer (town hall of the 4th arrondissement), Place de l'Hôtel de Ville (town hall of the 1st arrondissement) and 7, rue Barbette (open from monday to saturday, from 9 am to 7pm,access for disabled persons).



Ticket office closes at 17h00.

Cloakrooms are free of charge for individual visitors and groups, to store coats, large umbrellas, rucksacks, etc, but not large items, nor valuables such as cameras, money, identity documents, fur coats, etc. Suitcases are not allowed.

Opening hours

Daily from 10am to 6pm, except Mondays and some public holidays : May 1st, in May 5th and May 8th, 2016
The museum will be opened every Sunday day before of Easter and Pentecost (in March 27th and May 15th, 2016) 

Last entrance at 5.30 pm.
Ticket office closes at 5.30 pm.

Renovation work

From April 4th, 2016 until the end of 2019, the Hotel Peletier de Saint-Fargeau (collections from the French Revolution, 19th century and the Belle Epoque) will be closed for renovation. 

The Carnavalet Hotel (collections from the 17th and 18th centuries, room of signs) will be open until Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 inclusive. A space of prefiguration will be installed to present the project of renovation and inform activities of the museum during its closure.
